You may have seen Melissa and Rob’s engagement session posted a little while ago, and read their story on how neither of them is from KY, but one from GA and the other from WI, but wanted to have a good half way point so that neither of the family/friends would have to travel too far. This wedding was amazing, the bride was stunning and the venue was perfect! All the little details Melissa did to give this a “Kentucky feel” was awesome

What was the most memorable part of your day?

The most memorable? The whole day was amazing! I think my favorite part was walking down the aisle and seeing Rob for the first time, but a close second would be when we said our vows. Those are things you watch over and over again at weddings, but so surreal when you’re the person saying the words and walking towards a new chapter of your life.

Advice you have for recently engaged couples?

We were engaged in December and married in May. I’d recommend a short engagement to anyone. It makes the wedding decisions so much easier and helps you not get too carried away with the details.

What was the funniest part of your day?

I feel like I smiled and laughed all day, but I think doing the “Thriller” dance with my girlfriends was the funniest. I actually think learning the dance with them might have been even funnier.

Did you do a first look? Do you wish you would/wouldn’t have? why or why not

We didn’t see each other until my grandfather walked me down the aisle, and I’m so thankful I let the inefficient side of me win. I knew I could have gotten more pictures beforehand and could have gotten to our party sooner after the ceremony, but I wouldn’t trade that moment for anything. My sister told me to only look at Rob when coming down the aisle, and that’s what I did. I didn’t see anyone else in the crowd – just his smiling face. I loved it!

Would you change anything?

I wouldn’t change a thing…. It was the best day of my life!
