GENERAL PORTRAIT SESSION FAQS

Will my images be online?

After your session we will book an ordering session usually about a week after your session takes place. All decision makers will need to be at this appointment. This is where you will see the images and place your order. After that, the images that you purchased will be placed in an online gallery for additional ordering.

Can I buy a disc of Images?

I do not offer discs. (actually my computers don’t even have disc drives!) We are starting to offer digital packages. I still believe that photos should be printed, touched, treasured. Images should be admired, hung in your home. Any image that is purchased, does come with web size digital image for online sharing.

When will I see my images?

At your session we will book an ordering session, usually about a week after your session takes place. At this time, you will come back into the studio to see your beautiful images. Please make sure any decision makers, anyone wanting to purchase is with you at this appointment.

When do I pay for my prints/products?

Payment is due in full when ordering. (payment plans can be made, but only upon the order being paid in full, will it be fulfilled)

NEWBORN FAQ

When should I schedule my session?

For maternity session I suggest anywhere from 30-34 weeks. You want to make
sure you have a nice, cute, round belly, but we also want to do it before you start to get
uncomfortable.
The best time for a newborn session is within the first week. I know it can be hard
to deal with everything, but it is imperative, that we get the baby while he/she is still
sleepy, cuddly, curly, with that perfect newborn skin. I have A LOT of experience (I have
photographed over 1400 babies in the past 2 years) with babies. So please, come in,
relax, and enjoy the show! (mamas, don’t worry about what you look like, use this time to
relax and ENJOY this new addition to your family!)

I don’t really feel like getting ready, can I wait a while to have the “newborn” photos taken?

This is obviously totally up to you. BUT, if you want those sleepy, cuddly,
precious, angelic images, it is CRUCIAL the baby gets in the studio within the first 10
days! So Mama, put your hair in a ponytail, grab some house-shoes and come on! Once
you miss this stage, its gone….FOREVER!

What should I bring/wear for the newborn session?

Most of the newborn sessions are for baby only. So no need to worry about
bringing clothes for mom or dad. If you would like photos with your hands, please bring
a black shirt.
Most of the images I do of the newborn, are with no clothes. Feel free to bring
hats or headbands, or even wraps if you have it. Other than that, the only thing you need
to bring is food, diapers and a swaddling blanket.

What if my baby cries during the shoot?

Its a baby!!! Of course its gonna cry! I have to say, since I have been doing this, I
have NEVER had a baby that I couldn’t take photos of because he or she was crying. I
have photographed over 1400 babies in the past 10 years. They don’t call me the baby
whisperer for nothing!!

If the baby is naked what if……

ahhh….yes the ever so common, what if my baby poops on your stuff. YEP, its
gonna happen! Almost guaranteed! Everything I use with my newborns is washable, and
everything gets washed in between each baby. Please don’t worry. I can probably count
on one had how many sessions I’ve had with no accidents.

How Long will the session take?

Please block off 2-3 hours for your session. It takes a while to get these perfect
angelic images. I request that if possible you wait until you get the to the studio to feed
the baby. This promotes deep sleep. The deeper the sleep, the faster the session will go. I
block off 2-3 hours per session to allow for feedings, diaper changes and what ever else
comes up.

When will I see my images?

At your session we will book an ordering session, usually about a week after your
session. At this time, you will come back into the studio to see your beautiful images.
Please make sure any decision makers, anyone wanting to purchase is with you at this
appointment.

Can I include my other children, myself or the baby’s dad in the photos?

Usually the Newborn Session is JUST for the newborn. This session is all about
capturing all the amazing details of your baby. I suggest waiting until the baby is at least
one month of age before including siblings in the session. 3 hours is a long time to have
another child sit and wait for the newborn session.

MATERNITY  FAQ

When should I schedule my maternity session?

I suggest doing the maternity session in between weeks 30-34. Depending on how
you are carrying, what number pregnancy this is for you, how your feeling, etc. We want
you to have a nice, round, cute, bump, but still be able to move and not look like you are
uncomfortable.

What will I be showing?

This is totally up to you. There are many different comfort levels for a maternity
session. I’ve had women come in that don’t want to show their bellies at all, they just
want to capture the essence of being pregnant, and I’ve had ladies come in for nude
pregnancy photos. So, this is totally up to you, and of course, your decision will be
respected in any decision that you choose.

What to wear/bring?

There are a few essentials that I recommend, but of course, this is your photo
shoot, so bring any and everything.
If possible, bring a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans. I know you’re not going to able to “fit”
in them, but if we can get them up, I like the look of them unbuttoned. If this is a no
go…. (I know it was when I was pregnant, there was NO WAY I was going to fit in my
regular jeans) try to bring a pair of jeans that button, with out the belly panel. Bring a
White Cami/sports bra, a Black Cami/sports bra, a pair of black panties, a pair of nude
panties. Bring a dressy outfit. Something that forms to that nice bump you have. Don’t
forget shoes, and accessories. We also recommend you getting your hair and makeup
professionally done. (I have some names I can give you of great people to use!)

Can I have my family in some photos?

Of course. Most of the images are of mama to be, but of course it is a FAMILY thing, so we love to include Daddy to be, as well as Big Sister/Brother to be!
